There are around 20 British Isles species in the geraniaceae (geranium) family, including a few naturalised varieties. Plants have alternate, divided leaves, and solitary or clustered flowers with five petals, five sepals and ten stamens, of which all have anthers in the geranium genus, while only half have anthers in the erodium genus.
