In open, branched, leafy clusters. Each branch has several spherical flowerheads; one or two, towards the base, containing only female heads, and a larger number, up to ten, above, of only male heads. Female flowers consist of a green ovary and an elongated white style, while male flowers have three greenish-yellow stamens topped by brown anthers
