Small, formed of two spreading white petals, notched at the tip, two exserted stamens, a two-lobed stigma and two reddish, ovate, recurved sepals. Flowers are attached by short stalks which, like the stem, have a covering of short, bristly hairs. The inflorescence is an open, elongated cluster, held some distance above the uppermost leaves

Opposite, ovate, up to 10 cm long, lined with small, shallow teeth
