The corolla is pink to reddish, darker towards the tip, while the calyx has a green or red tube, generally hairless, and five long, thin, darker green teeth sparsely covered by long, spreading white hairs

Trifoliate; three dark green leaflets, generally lacking any lighter patches, up to 4 cm long, on stems which are angled between adjacent nodes rather than straight
