Up to 30 mm in diameter; a tubular, white or pale pink corolla opening to five reddish-pink (rarely white) lobes, divided about half their length, and a hairy, green to purplish calyx with five short, blunt lobes. The calyx inflates as the flower starts to wither. This is a dioecious species, and male flowers are smaller than female flowers
