Below are two rows of linear, narrow, black-tipped phyllaries, the lower about half the length of the upper. Phyllaries, pedicels and stems are covered by cottony hairs
Leaves:
Greyish-green, pinnately lobed several times; all lobes are narrow, and pointed. Cottony-hairy, especially underneath
