Surrey borders London to the southwest, containing such towns as Woking, Guildford, Farnham, Leatherhead and Epsom, yet despite the generally developed surroundings, the county contains large areas of natural landscape, including Chobham Common, Hankley Common, the Ash Ranges, and, the largest, the Surrey Hills, protected as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
